Dead Centre

The Dead Centre program is a program targeting Youth that have disengaged from education, their families, community in general and have come into contact with Police and the courts. Unfortunately these young people lack a sense of balance in their lives with no direction, meaning and purpose to succeed. The Dead Centre program will support and encourage young people to make the changes needed to bring balance back into their lives and improve their desired outcomes.

The Dead Centre program is designed to help youth find the centre and balance in life and aims to:

•   Support and direct youth in the best way to identify and set new life goals

•   Educate and advise youth in what it takes to reach these goals

•   Facilitate youth in setting the right steps forward finding that centre

•   Equip youth with the right tools to continue on that pathway of success.

The initial engagement will be to completely disconnect young people from

their familiar surroundings and to begin a journey of identity and

acknowledgement around the negative influences that are impacting on their

safety and well-being. Narrative therapeutic approach will be utilized so these

young have the opportunity to share their stories and express their thoughts and

emotions.

The Dead Centre program aims to encourage youth to step outside of their comfort

zone to confidently face life’s challenges and find their place in family and community.

The Dead Centre Program offers 2 options of care:

Option 1 - Respite tailored for individual needs

Option 2 - For Participants that do not require one on one care and are in a group.

Activities include camping trips in the outback and adventures in riverinas.
